Markets in the Garden (Royal Botanic Gardens, Melbourne) are held once a month throughout the summer and this Saturday we will be there 9am-2pm so don't forget to pop by. We have Organic baby Christmas gifts galore.

ice bear project

This December 11th animal sculptor, Mark Coreth, will carve a life-sized ice sculpture of a hunting polar bear in Trafalgar Square, just outside the National Gallery. Over ten days it will melt, leaving a bronze skeleton, a pool of water and a powerful environmental message. Anyone who comes to Trafalgar Square will be able to reach out and touch the Ice Bear. GE Summit

It's only 6 days until the talks on client change start in Copenhagen (7th December 2009). The Australian Conservation Foundation have put together a progress report in the lead up to the summit, click here to see how Australia is travelling in the lead up to the talks.
The outcome of these talks are important to our plant and future generations and as Gandhi so eloquently put it "be the change that you want to see in the world".

What active ingredient does WOTNOT sunscreen use?

The new formula uses a high concentration of micronised Zinc Oxide (250mg/g) as the only active. Zinc Oxide protects by reflecting UV-A and UV-B rays away from the skin rather than chemical actives which absorb these rays.

Is it safe to use on babies and people with sensitive skin?

Babies should be sheltered from the sun as much as possible. However when this isn't possible or for people with sensitive skin, wotnot sunscreen is a great option. As with any product, if you feel that you or your baby may be allergy prone then we recommend that you do a patch test before general use.

Does it use synthetic preservatives?

WOTNOT sunscreen is self preserving. There are no synthetic preservatives added which can cause allergy.

Mulberry Tree Organic - picnic

Yesterday I got together with some girlfriends for a Mulberry Tree Organic picnic in Andrea's garden-Thankyou Andrea. It was hot but a lovely day. It's always great to see kids wearing the clothes and hearing that everyone is loving the brands that we stock. All the kids were boys and they were all so well behaved!!

My very talented friend Alyssa from Lyssy May has created some beautiful children’s bags for Mulberry Tree Organic. The bags are lovingly handmade from organic denim and recycled materials. This one is my current favourite and will be available in a gift box from our market stall this Saturday (see details on the right and location map below) along with a beautiful organic dress, which will make a perfect Christmas or Birthday gift for a very special little girl 12-18 or 18-24 months. It was a beautiful day in Melbourne today and I managed to grab an hour to enjoy the sunshine, and a stroll in the countryside. We are surrounded by beautiful countryside, so don't forget to get out and see the snowdrop and bluebells while they are here.

Going Green Expo

If you are in Brisbane between the 18th-20th of September don't forget the checkout to "Going Green Expo" being held at the RNA showgrounds. The Expo was held for the first time last year in Melbourne but they desided to move it to Queeensland as it is such a progressive state and the home of many of Australia's leading environmentally responsible initiatives. Parliament has voted to pass the 20% renewable energy target legislation, which is finally a step in the right direction! It is through public pressure that these changes come about and the government can no longer ignore the impact that we have on the plant. The legislation will mean that more and more of the energy we use will come from renewable sources such as solar and wind power. The future is green :)

I have just received my first order from Dimples, this beautiful quality organic baby wear is from New Zealand. I will be including a limited range in the gift section of the online store as it is a perfect gift for expecting Mum's. Sunny Saturdays

I love a sunny spring Saturday's when the buds are about to burst on the trees. There is nothing better than spending the morning at the local market and then a walk in the countryside to clear the cob webs and feel the sun on your cheeks in the afternoon. It reminds me on my home county of Dorset in England and the beautiful countryside, this photo was taken in Abbottsbury. Oh happy days are here again!!
