Elwood Community Market

We had a lovely day at Elwood Community Market today, everyone was out enjoying the sun and I enjoyed getting all the new season range out on show. I had lots of comments on the summer bloomers and our new brand l'asticot went down a treat with the retro loving Mum's of Elwood. The items always look better in real life rather than on a computer screen, so if you are in Melbourne do come and visit us and see for yourself the beautiful organic cotton with great colours and designs that we have for both girls and boys upto 5 years. We will be at the Monkey Market tomorrow in Brighton dont forget. And don't let the rain put you off as it is all indoors and there is lots of free parking right at the door. See the side panel on the right for the full details.

Friday, November 5, 2010

We are at the Elwood market and the Monkey Market in Brighton this weekend so if you are looking for unique Christmas gifts or just a great day out with the kids there is plenty to keep them entertained at both Markets. Monkey Markets - Mulberry Tree Organic

Mulberry Tree Organic recently attended a new market called Monkey Market's which is being held in various venues around bayside Melbourne, Eltham, Brighton and Moorabbin. The first market was held in the Brighton Bowls & Sporting Culb Hall in Dendy Park (see upcoming market details in the right hand side of this blog). The location was great, there is lots of free parking and it was very light and airy so gave a really lovely atmosphere. I had to do my best to stop from loading up on Christmas presants for all the children in my world as there were so many beautiful and unique items that were drawing my eye. The lovely girls that put so much work into making the day a success asked me to do a little interview for their website, click here to read the interview and find out more information about the Monkey Markets. I hope to see you at the next one.

Organic playsuit from Piccalilly, UK.

The butterfly garden onesie and playsuits are proving to be popular with Mum's that love pretty prints and practical, comfortable clothing for their children. Piccalilly's spotted range and old fashioned airoplane has proved to be popular for some time here at Mulberry Tree Organic, which is why we decided to add another printed range for the girls. The organic cotton is super soft and with poppers providing access to all areas there won't be any struggles. I just love the little frill detail. To see the item closer click here.

organic swaddle, newborn baby gift

An organic cotton, Ergo Cocoon is the perfect gift for a newborn baby and Mum-to-be. They are a best selling gift at Mulberry Tree Organic and Mum's just love them. I am constantly hearing from Mum's, how much they love or loved their Ergo Cocoon and recommend them to all their friends. When I attend local markets and someone asks me what is popular for a newborn gift it is the Ergo Cocoon that I suggest along with some of our devine organic skin care from Little Pumpkin which is specially created for newborns delicate skin.
The Ergo Cocoon from ErgoPouch assists with settling a newborn baby or baby that doesn't settle easily on their back. The cocoon creates a snug and safe sleeping position for the baby and will also assist a new mum with catching some much needed sleep too, in the confidence that her newborn is sleeping in a safe position.
The organic cotton is gentle on the baby's skin as there are no chemicals used in the production and with added little features like a 2 way zipper (which helps when a nappy change is needed) and poppers at the arm, so that baby can be easily converted into sleep mode. You can feel proud of your gift as it will be loved, designed here in Australia and in demand all over the world for it's unique design and 5 star safety rating. I say "go ergo!"

ErgoPouch is strictly compliant with all safety regulations and will assist with the prevention of SIDS.

Organic Newborn Skin Care - Little Pumpkin

We love to get to know the people behind the brands that we stock. Sascha and Suzannah have recently launched a luxurious organic skin care brand called Newborn Little Pumpkin with Little Pumpkin Tonics coming very soon. A range of the products are available at Mulberry Tree Organic and will also be added to some of our gift boxes as it makes a perfect gift. Here we asked the girls just a few questions to find out a little more about them.

Why did you choose an organic business?

We have always been motivated to develop benefit-driven, beautiful products and believe that natural, wild-crafted and organic ingredients offer the best quality, in the purest form - and therefore the best outcome possible. We also wanted to embrace the challenge of bringing an elegant, sophisticated product to the organic market.

We love rare and exotic ingredients that have distinctive aromas and that are highly functional, and consider it a vital part of the business to know as many of the producers personally and foster relationships directly. This ensures the highest quality, the most beautiful textures and aromas with the greatest benefits possible. Most importantly, it ensures the product integrity is maintained. We are also very conscious of the origins and production processes of the products we use and actively support fair trade operations, cruelty free production and boutique-sized artisan operations. For example, we select our organic shea butter not only for its superior quality, but also the support to the community programs where it is made. Its operation of women belonging to farming groups and co-operatives of northern Uganda and Southern Sudan, brought together through the Shea Project for Local Conservation and Development, a highly innovative new industry which reduces female labour, lifts women's incomes and directly benefits household food security. Additionally, when sourcing bees wax, the only non-vegetable ingredient used, it is sourced from a bee keeper in northern NSW who operates production with the highest degree of kindness and respect for the bees.

What makes you get up in the morning?

We're doing what we love! It's an opportunity for usto be creative, constantly challenged and most importantly, the opportunity to provide a premium product designed to genuinely benefit those who use it.

What do you love about your products?

We're inspired by the finest, purest ingredients purveyed from around the globe. We adore their exquisite aromas and decadent textures, and love the creative and technical challenge of combining such beautiful ingredients to create distinctive, benefit-driven collections.

What do you look forward to each day?

The challenge of being creative and entrepreneurial.

Who inspires you?

Artisans of all descriptions - their methodology, passion and techniques when creating distinctive high-quality wares.

World Cup

Now I am not into watching sports on TV but one sport I do follow (as every true pom should) is the World Cup and with it fast approaching I am getting a little excited! A little reluctant to get up at 4am to see the first game, I will be cheering the Soccoroo's on. Football (or Soccor if you like) has kept comminuites together the world over which is just one of the reasons that I love it. I have spent many a cold, wet day in the stands cheering my team on and have made friends and had lots of good times while getting together with friends to watch a game myself, so when I heard that the Big Issue is holding it's own world cup for the homeless I thought, "what a great idea!!" When you see a vender selling the Big Issue next time please buy a copy, it's a great read, the money goes to the vendor who may otherwise not afford to have a bed for the night and you will have done your good deed for the day. This months issue has an article on Austrlia's chances to hold the next world cup and who is poopooing it, if your not interested your partner will be pleased you picked up a copy. I am thinking that you Mum's with newborns may have something to watch while doing your morning feed, over the next few weeks. Happy World Cup from Mulberry Tree Organic!

Happy Mothers Day

Wonderful Mother

God made a wonderful mother,
A mother who never grows old;
He made her smile of the sunshine,
And He moulded her heart of pure gold;
In her eyes He placed bright shining stars,
In her cheeks fair roses you see;
God made a wonderful mother,
And He gave that dear mother to me.
